Description
Hummel is a World War Two German self-propelled howitzer based on the Geschützwagen III/IV chassis which includes parts from both the Panzer III and Panzer IV. The vehicle mounts the 15 cm sFH 18 L/30 howitzer on the same chassis as the Nashorn tank destroyer. There were 6 of these in a battery and there was one battery in every Panzer Division with one ammunition carrier. The ammunition carrier was the same vehicle without the gun, but could be converted back into a Hummel as a field conversion. Over 700 of these were made with their first combat use in the battle of Kursk in 1943. Sold unpainted and unassembled.
