Honest John Rocket Launcher This massive American rocket launcher was designed to provide nuclear, chemical, or conventional support to army, corps and divisional commanders. First fielded in the 1950s these rocket launchers were used though out NATO, Japan, South Korea and other nations. Later versions had the long crane type supports replaced by a pair of pneumatic rams, like those used on a dump truck, an interesting and simple conversion. These were kept in service well into the 1990s and perhaps beyond in some nations. The missiles themselves were often painted orange for testing, white in peacetime, or green when on deployment. The missiles were often organized in 6 launcher batteries.
